WHY THE NAME?

You might ask yourself why I chose to name my blog "You're Gonna Bake It After All."  If you didn't know, this is a play on words from "Love is all around," the theme song to the Mary Tyler Moore show.  MTM and I go way back.  Even though this show completed filming years before I was born, I watched reruns with my mom as a child and always loved watching the adventures of Mary Richards. Of course she's such a likeable character, but I think the fact that she was a career woman really resonated with me.  Years later, when I graduated college and moved to Chicago by myself for grad school, my family joked that I was like Mary (even though I had a long-term boyfriend-now husband-who would join me in Chicago just 7 months later).  My sister even got me a big "M" like Mary had on her apartment wall, and made me a card with my face superimposed onto a picture of her tossing up her hat.  I fondly refer to that brief time as my "Mary Tyler Moore Days."  Coincidentally, my married initials are now MTM, and I love it!
